Instant Charting, Timing and Video Display. Ready for Track Installations, National Expansion (May 5, 2005 – New Hyde Park, NY) Autochart, LLC announced today that its revolutionary Autochart Racing System, which instantly calculates the relative positions, movement and speed of horses as they compete in a race, is now in full demonstration mode at Freehold Raceway in New Jersey and ready for installation at thoroughbred, harness and other racing facilities worldwide.
The Autochart System makes it possible for the first time ever to instantly chart races, position horses with unprecedented accuracy, display real-time running orders on in-house and simulcast programming, time individual performances to milliseconds, calculate speed and momentum between points of call, and generate an extraordinary array of new handicapping and performance data to assist fans, owners, breeders and trainers.
“The system is based on a patent-pending synchronized vector technology and card-sized tracking electronics weighing less than three ounces,” says Fernando Vincenzini, president of Autochart. “The result is the most accurate and comprehensive data description of races ever, the cornerstone of a new generation of technology-driven entertainment and analysis for the sport.”
Because the tracking cards are easily and securely attached to horse equipment, Autochart also can be used to help racing gain superior accuracy, reliability and control in reporting workouts and other training results. In addition, the system can “see” through snow, heavy fog and other weather conditions that often compromise traditional charting and race-calling. Results to date have met with enthusiastic response from Freehold Raceway and its horsemen. “We’ve been very impressed so far,” commented Freehold general manager Don Codey. “On test days, everyone here talks about the complete running orders on tv and the new kinds of race data Autochart displays immediately after a race.” The New Jersey Racing Commission approved initial Autochart installation for testing on Freehold’s races in 2004, during which time data was collected and compared to conventional charting and timing systems. According to AXCIS TrackMaster®, the company that studied the accuracy of the data from the initial Freehold test, “the data produced by the Autochart system (for times and lengths behind the leaders at all recorded points of call) in our estimation was as accurate or more accurate than the current standard.”
Autochart is now prepared to offer racetracks the first fully integrated menu of data and video services including charting, timing, television output for in-house and simulcast audiences, high-resolution photo finish, past performance enhancement and new handicapping products. According to Vincenzini, “Everyone who evaluates at the Autochart product line will see a genuine breakthrough in the way the sport can collect, enhance and present horse performance information in print, on tv, online and on personal digital devices.”
The Autochart System is available for demonstration Wednesdays through Saturdays at Freehold Raceway through the end of the current meet (May 28). More information is available at www.goautochart.com and the Autochart offices in New Hyde Park, NY, telephone 516.352.6001
